- April 29th – Flight to BZE: We will journey together from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, GA to Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport. From here we will travel by van to Hopkins Village.
- April 30th – Mayan World Adventure Park: Experience pure Belizean magic at the waterfalls of Maya World Adventures Park—a breathtaking oasis where adventure meets serenity. Surrounded by lush jungle, these cascading falls offer the perfect backdrop for relaxation, reflection, and refreshing swims.
- May 1st – Community Outreach Day: A day of cultural engagement with the Garifuna community at the local Polyclinic.
- May 2nd – Mayan Plant Medicine Immersion: This hands-on experience invites you into centuries-old practices of herbal healing, sacred gathering, and cultural storytelling. Guided by respected knowledge keepers, you’ll explore the power of local plants, their spiritual significance, and their role in community wellness—an enriching journey into ancestral medicine and Maya heritage.
- May 3rd. – Mayan Ruins, Cayo: Step back in time where ancient temples rise above lush jungle canopies and history whispers through every carved stone. From panoramic pyramid views to intricate plazas and ceremonial sites, visiting these iconic ruins offers a vivid glimpse into the brilliance and legacy of Maya civilization.
- May 4th – Rest Day:Enjoy a full day of cultural immersion—whether you’re relaxing in a hammock, lounging by the beach, resting in bed, or exploring the village by bike.
- May 5th: – Sea Excursion: Set sail on a Caribbean Sea excursion where crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life await. Dive in for refreshing swims, snorkel above colorful coral reefs, and discover the beauty of Belize’s underwater world. With warm breezes, turquoise horizons, and unforgettable ocean adventures, this coastal experience is pure Caribbean bliss.
- May 6th – Return to Atlanta

- Do I need a travel VISA to enter Belize? No, a travel VISA is not required for U.S. citizens to enter Belize. However, a valid passport is required.
- What does the fee include? The fee includes the cost of roundtrip flight, lodging and ground transportation. Attendee is responsible for all meals and any additional costs beyond the identified expenses. Participants will also be required to bring one full suitcase (50lbs) of supplies to donate to a local Polyclinic.

Who can register? Black and Indigenous Doulas, Midwives, Student Midwives, Lactation Specialists, and Perinatal Mental Health Therapists, who are actively servicing families within their communities.

Is there a payment plan? Yes, please select the appropriate box within the Doulas on a Mission Registration Form if you prefer to utilize this payment method to insure that you receive invoices. The Payment Fee schedule as follows:

Deposit – $1000 due Feb. 1, 2026

Second Payment Due – $1,200 Mar 1, 2026

Final Payment Due – $1,300 Apr. 1, 2026($500 if you are listed on the GBDN Directory)

If I decide not to attend, can I receive a refund? Registration fees are final and no refunds will be issued. In an effort to maintain the low cost of the trip, the fee primarily covers the cost of travel and lodging. Both entities that we use have non-refundable policies. If for any reason, i.e. political, impeding dangerous weather, diseases, etc., refunds will be granted based on the airline’s discretion.

Can out-of-state doulas participate? Yes, an Black and/or Indigenous Doulas, lactation specialists, or perinatal mental health therapists who are actively servicing families within their communities can register for the retreat.

What are the lodging accommodation options? In an effort to maintain the low cost of the trip, the lodging accommodations will be two people per room.

Can I bring my partner, children or other family or friends? Unfortunately, this trip is for birthworkers only.
