My name is Maria Elena Houpe, and I am the founder of POSH Doula Care. I am a DONA International–trained as a birth and postpartum doula with a Master’s degree in Public Health and Nutrition and a Masters Certifciate in Manternal and Child Health. My work is grounded in evidence-based practice, cultural humility, and a deep sense of calling to serve and uplift families during one of life’s most transformative seasons: pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.
POSH Doula Care was born out of a desire to provide personalized, respectful, and holistic support to families—especially those from BIPOC communities who often face disparities in maternal and infant health outcomes. I strive to create a safe, informed, and empowering space where every mother feels heard, supported, and honored. From birth planning and advocacy to postpartum recovery and lactation assistance, POSH Doula Care is committed to walking with families every step of the way.
