Rooted in her Garifuna heritage by way of Honduras, Yesenia was raised within a matriarchal family guided by community, compassion, and love. These values continue to shape her work as a Certified Full Spectrum Doula devoted to nurturing women through every stage of their reproductive journey.
Her life’s path has been one of intentional healing and self-actualization — a continual return to peace, purpose, and ancestral wisdom. From her early education at the all-women’s institution Spelman College, where she began her journey of service to women, to her years in the beauty industry as a protective hairstylist and certified yoga teacher, Yesenia has always been called to care, uplift, and hold space for others.
Now, as a doula, she blends modern, evidence-based support with the timeless traditions of her lineage. Her work is a reflection of her belief that birth is sacred, that women are powerful, and that care must be both holistic and human.
Yesenia continues to expand her practice through graduate-level nursing education, where she hopes to integrate ancestral knowledge and modern medicine — honoring the wisdom of the past while shaping the care of the present.
