Currently, we prioritize Black and Indigenous birth workers, as well as aspiring doulas, because we believe in a community-based approach to maternal health. We know what our communities need, and by uplifting birth workers from these communities, we ensure that care is culturally responsive, affirming, and rooted in lived experience. This approach is essential to addressing the maternal mortality crisis in Georgia and improving outcomes for Black and Indigenous families.

It is highly recommended that you have birth work experience prior to registering on the directory. If you are in training or exploring birth work, then please state this in your bio to alert potential clients about your limited experience. We believe in nurturing the next generation of birth workers to ensure long-term change in maternal health outcomes.
