The Georgia Black Doula Network, Inc. presents BLOOM, Birthing Love, Outreach, and Optimal Motherhood, formally known as Mama Talk. BLOOM is a series of informational sessions tailored to the unique needs of pregnant and postpartum Black families, offered both virtually and in-person. Each session focuses on a relevant topic, led by a community expert, and provides a safe and supportive space for participants to share their experiences, connect with others, and gain valuable insights, ultimately empowering them to achieve optimal health outcomes during pregnancy. birth and beyond.


Join Our Pregnancy Information Circle & Learning (PIC’L) and Transform Your Birth Experience
The Georgia Black Doula Network is offering a barrier-free, six-week virtual Childbirth Education series, led by experienced doulas. This series provides evidence-based information within a culturally sensitive framework, empowering pregnant, birthing, and postpartum families to make informed decisions about their maternal care and birthing options.
A Pathway to Informed Childbirth Education
Participants will have access to valuable community resources throughout the classes, ensuring they are well-supported during their journey. The series is designed to create a welcoming and inclusive environment, making childbirth education accessible to all families.

All participating pregnant and postpartum (within 3 months) families receive a FREE Perinatal Package that includes items for both mom and baby. This complimentary gift will be honored while supplies are in stock.


Secure Critical Support for Your Maternal Journey
Our mission is to ensure that every family has access to the resources they need for a healthy start, including diapers, prenatal vitamins, breast pumps, and car seats. By offering these vital supplies, we aim to reduce economic barriers and support families in need. Eligible households will receive one donated item each, with priority given to those who need them the most.
Ujamaa Family Essentials
The Ujamaa Family Essentials is a supplemental program dedicated to providing essential maternal and infant items to underserved Black and Indigenous communities residing within Georgia.
Ujamaa is a term in Swahili meaning “cooperative economics” and is essentially a commitment to the practice of shared social wealth and the work necessary to achieve it.

Requirements
- Identify as Black, Indigenous, or African American
- Reside in Georgia
- Currently pregnant, or within one year postpartum
- Meet income threshold guidelines

Doula Assistance Fund

The Doula Assistance Fund provides financial support to low-income Black and Indigenous families in Georgia who are pregnant or newly postpartum, aiming to reduce the financial burden of labor or postpartum doula services. Eligible families can access perinatal doula care from our network, with a maximum assistance of $500 toward labor or postpartum doula support. The payment are made directly to the selected doula after services are completed. Please review the qualifications below to see if you are eligible for this program.
Requirements:
- An affiliate of Georgia Black Doula Network (GBDN) with active listing on the Directory
- Identify as Black, Indigenous, or African American
- Reside in Georgia
- Currently pregnant, or within eight weeks postpartum
- Birthing within a Georgia facility (i.e. birth center, home birth, hospital)
